I lost my Uncle in April of 2019. It was sudden, unexpected and too soon. He had two amazing parents, four siblings, a beautiful wife, seven grandchildren and five children, two still yet to graduate. And he had countless nieces and nephews who counted on him to be Mr.Christmas. None of us were ready to say goodbye.

The day after Christmas would come and my uncle would make sure we knew it was only 365 days until the next Christmas. He would plan and execute family trivia, silly games, scavanger hunts and more. He had a sweet and fun childlike anticipation for the magic and joy Christmas brought. He lived for it, he loved it. Christmas was by far one of the most meaningful days of the year. And it wasnt all about the Christmas hype, he knew his Savior was born on this day and that was the driving factor behind it all.
It was in early August 2019, after months of grieving and feeling helpless, that this story came to me. Line after line came pouring in faster than I could type. I illustrated, edited and wept over this story for months. I knew my Uncle's story was not over yet. Mr.Christmas himself wouldn't had been satisfied until his love and zeal for Christmas was spread as far around the world as possible.
My uncle's story was one for the books. Yes, the book, Countdown to Christmas. In honor of my Uncle's love for Christmas and for the countdown, I will be holding a continous countdown in the year 2020 building up to Christmas. My hope is to spread that love and zeal for Christmas that my Uncle once shared with me.

If you were looking for a free printable that helped you keep track of how many sleeps until Christmas then this is the one. Simply print this countdown to Christmas printable and either laminate it or even frame it if you like.

You will need a whiteboard marker to handwrite the number of sleeps left on the printable. Then each day, wipe the sign clean and change the number until it’s Christmas day!
